Put up flyers and posters, ask local record stores if they would put up a display or sell the cds up front, have a cd release show (sell the cds at a discount at the concert, or something similar), make sure fans know the album is coming via email lists, myspace, purevolume, etc., anything else creative you can think of/
• Make sure the name of your band isn’t taken and your name is interesting.
• Target places where people who would be interested in your music might hang out and sell copies or if you can afford it, give out limited samples with a couple of songs.
• See if there is a local radio station that does a ‘locals only’ spotlight and send in your music. After you sent it and they play it asked everyone you know to call and request it.
• Organize a free all ages show in a safe enviroment and perform (e.g. skateboard park, coffee house, street corner, etc.)
• Get an email list of people who like your music and send them updates regularly.
• Make promotional items with your band name -stickers, beer cozies, matches, etc. Give a few out when you perform.
Good luck to you!
